I'm Les from gnuker.com. (ontime) from the old forum site. Not much else to say, I guess.

Glad you guys got the WPMU development site going with new forums and the like.

I'm Hank, currently working on the WordPress.com challenge with a few folks. I think it's gonna be a great project to help get the WPMU project running, and to get WordPress available to more folks.

I run a magazine - wildthoughts.org, and have a weekly column in a paper in boulder colorado: http://boulderdirt.com/x/contact/staff.cfm?id=20

I live in Montana, and I'm getting a master's degree in environmental studies. Professionally, I'm a freelance designer, writer, editor, programmer. I work for the university (http://www.umt.edu - that's my design, and a lot of my code runs the thing), and I teach some web technique classes.

I'm psyched to be working on this project.

    Hiya,

I'm James Farmer (Farms) I blog at incorporated subversion (http://incsub.org/blog), run the online education & organisational learning company / blog IncSub at http://incsub.org and spend the rest of my time as a lecturer in education design.

I think WP & WPMU has the potential to revolutionise online education and, while I'm a code-newbie, am totally committed to doing everything I can for this project!

The best way I find for keeping up with these forums is to use the RSS feed... http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/rss.php

For some reason bbpress doesn't seem to advertise this at all (like it does thread feeds) but IMO it's the best way to keep on top of what's going on.

Hi, i'm andrew (andrewb from the old forums). I Live in Boston, MA and Birmingham, AL. I work for a mortgage company who houses their servers in the SAVVIS data center in MA, however the company is located in Birmingham, AL. I frequently travel between the two locations. I also own a hosting company which can be found at idtstudios.com

I hope that wpmu will set the PHP standard for a multiple blog script.

    Hello All,
I'm the damn squatter that owns WordPress.Com :@
We have been trying like hell to let someone use the domain for free, but it is SLOW going.
Anyone out there that want to use this domain to support WordPress?
I have seen a lot of requests similar to HankGreen, but not enough specific information to help us chose the best candidate.
PLEASE NOTE: I have no affiliation with the WordPress development. I simply own the domain. I purchased it as part of the OpenDomain program and now I am trying to use it to support the development in my own weird way.

Pretty much everyone here including myself is onbaord with frank so, to be honest, i would choose his request so we can get started. Right now were just sitting like ducks waiting for the domain to be available to us. Everything is setup and ready to go on the server, were just waiting on the domain. I gave hank the dns info last night.

Ok, may i introduce myself, too.
My name is andy, i live in germany, near munich.
I'm working as an IT systems integrator.
Together with my friend, i chose wpmu as basis for our bloghosting solution at http://www.cornblogs.com
After doing some work, i found it to be good to support wpmu development, so i'm here.
I'm pretty sure that wpmu will become better and better.
maybe i could help getting wpmu to be the basis for wordpress.com

    "onbaord with frank"

Frank! Good lord Andrew, I definitely don't need that.

For some reason it's actually a common mistake when i first meet people, they don't mean to call me Frank, they know I'm Hank, but for some reason it just comes out. It's never happened in typeface before and it makes me want a shower.

    Sincerely,
    Definitely not frank, Hank

I have no clue why I called you frank. I guess because I wrote that in a hurry. I even mispelled a few words. Sorry about that ;)

    Ric. Les here from gnuker.com

Andrew and I had setup wpmudev.org to house the what we hoped would be the repostory for WPMu, but as in all things, those plans were changed.

We would be happy to host wordpress.com in it's place if you are in serious need and terms can be agreed upon up front.

Let either Andrew or myself know.

    To Les and (f)Hank,
We would be interested in any proposal. You may even call me (I 'm on the WhoIS). We are looking for a complete plan, not just a quick outline.

Our current plan is to filter the top 3 -5 proposals and let Matt or Donncha make the final decision.

Are these forums are the proper place to host this discussion?

Since this is donncha's creation, I would let him choose. But just out of curiosity... how many other proposals do you have? I seriously doubt any other group knows more about wpmu than we do.

Matt has offered to make wordpress.net available to host Wordpress MU blogs and in the future that's where I'll put some effort.
Meanwhile, there's a very active community at http://www.blogsome.com/ where you can sign up and use WPMU already!

I wish Ric well, and if anyone wants to help him, the code is all there in the open!

In my opinioin, the best home for WordpressMu is within the current umbrella of wordpress domains.

It's home here, and supported by a team that has grown over the last few months, not to mention the entire development team that started the project to begin with.

Keep up the great work and we will continue to support you.

    Thank you, Donncha.
You did a great job on Multi-blogs and I have tested it when I was trying to setup WordPress.com to something similar to Blogsome, but I while I was setting everything up - I realized I was the wrong person for the job.
Do not get me wrong - I am a geek, so i loke what you and Matt have made, but I am a Microsoft geek, so I am afraid that while I muddle around trying to setup, I may be doing more hard than good to the community.
That is why I sent out the offer to let anyone with more expereince in WoordPress / PHP? and mySQL use the domain. I sent YOU a request a while back if you wanted to use it, but I guess you are too busy.
In any case, someone will eventually use the domain. I just wish I could find some way for you or Matt to use it.
