    Logged in this morning and was told by my admin panel that 2.6.3 was available.

    But the download page still seems to only have 2.6.2 on it.

    I'm not sure I understood correctly what had to be done for WPMU upgrade. To summarize, we have to wait WPMU-2.6.3 to appear on the website? One cannot use WP-2.6.3 to upgrade WPMU I guess.

    No we can't Tom. But I guess the release checker is still pointing to the WP website and not the WPMU one!

    People, it's two files... low-risk security upgrade for Snoopy.

    To upgrade wmpu 2.6.2 to 2.6.3 manually:

    Make a backup of <WPMU_DIR>/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php

    Download:
    http://trac.wordpress.org/export/9310/tags/2.6.3/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php

    Upload it to your server into <WPMU_DIR>/wp-includes/ folder.

    Now you only have to change the version of your WPMU.
    Edit <WPMU_DIR>/wp-includes/version.php and change "2.6.2" to "2.6.3".

    ...and you are done...

    @buzz: I used your "manual" method but it still leaves the Upgrade message on the Dashboard.

    Is it just too early in the morning for me? I've only had three cups of coffee, so I may not be up to speed yet. ;)

    There's two places in the version file where it needs to be replaced.

    Odd ... it must have been the lack of proper caffeine levels. I was certain I made the same changes I just made a few moments ago. Thanks.

    andrea_r,

    actually it seems like there are three files, even if there was a small fix in the media file:

    http://trac.wordpress.org/changeset?old_path=tags%2F2.6.2%2F&old=8849&new_path=tags%2F2.6.3%2F&new=9310

    I'd cross-check that one with the WPMU file, because they have been handling that slightly differently.

    (and yes, I saw that about an hour ago :) )

    I had this issue earlier, and without consulting the forum, I decided to follow the instructions here:

    http://wordpress.org/development/2008/10/wordpress-263/

    I copied over the wp-includes/class-snoopy.php

    and just edited my wp-includes/version.php to include the new version numbers:

    $wp_version = '2.6.3';
    $wpmu_version = '2.6.3';

    So, the fix buzz_lightyear mentioned above does work... and if you do not want to be nagged ever (not recommended), just make your version numbers really high!

    PS: also note that this would not be the same as a wpmu official release... if 2.6.3 becomes available with significant differences, still upgrade!

    I did a diff between 262 and 263 snoopy class. There were just few little changes. Plus version.php change. No third file was changed AFAIK.

    sorry for spamming the forum, but i double checked your link above and it indeed lists 3 files, but i think the link, which u used, is the right one.

    If i open your link to wp svn browser, it additionally lists wp-admin/media.php

    But you should check this instead:
    http://trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.6.3/

    then deeper into wp-admin/media.php
    http://trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.6.3/wp-admin/media.php

    and you'll see, that the file was changed 5 months ago.
