After upgrading to mu 2.6.2 I have a problem deleting images. Images uploaded after the upgrade are deleted without a problem. But images uploaded prior to the upgrade are only deleted from the system/db but not the hard disk of the server.
This is not a due to file system permissions. My upgrade history is 1 to 1.5 to 2.6.2.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Do permissions of those images differ? Can you check this?

No this isn't due to different file permissions.

The image uploaded after the upgrade to 2.6.2 has been deleted from the hard disk of the server but not the older one (from 2007). Neither are displayed under the Media section.

The values for _wp_attached_file in wp_X_postmeta had been corrupted. I haven't found out why yet.
