I am going to migrate from mediatemple (mt) to a managed VPS hosting environment for http://blogpeoria.com. I found one that seems reasonable: Wiredtree.

This is the plan I'm looking at:

* Intel Dual Xeon Harpertown
* 512MB Guaranteed SLM RAM
* 60GB RAID-10 Disk Space
* 800GB Bandwidth
* 4 Dedicated IPs
* cPanel / WHM (VPS Optimized)
* Virtuozzo 4 with Power Panel
* Fantastico, RVSkin, WHMCS Available
* Starting at: $59/month

I am interested in hearing the thoughts, opinions, experiences of others in the WPMu community.

Just switched to WT about 2 months ago and so far they are great. Worked almost right out of the box/copied from old host, up and running now.

Do ask them to tune the VPS, i.e. disable some of the features (Spamd I think) eating 50-200mb of RAM unneeded.

their support team is very helpful (no problem supporting unsupported SW :) and very, very fast..

Cheers,
Bike

Well, I went and did it.

I went for the next-highest account level:

* Intel Dual Xeon Harpertown
* 768MB Guaranteed SLM RAM
* 80GB RAID-10 Disk Space
* 1000GB Bandwidth
* 4 Dedicated IPs
* cPanel / WHM (VPS Optimized)
* Virtuozzo 4 with Power Panel
* Fantastico, RVSkin, WHMCS Available
* Starting at: $77/month

I used a coupon code and got 10 percent off for life. Gonna end up paying $76 a month or so.

I'm just waiting for the time to start moving the site over to the new server.

So, any advice out there for the move from mediatemple (gs) to Wires Tree?

Just wanted to chime in on this one.

I have a managed VPS with WiredTree and things have been smooth for the most part.

Their suppost is beyond excellent in my opinion. Fast and friendly and helpful.

I may have to bump up my server to host the WP MU site I'm developing, but I'll be staying with WiredTree.

I guess, I'll also consider using them :)
Although, I prefer dedicated servers - got those starting at $150/month
