Ok, for fun I used SVN to get the trunk version of MU, which is running 2.7 (bleeding edge) and for the most part everything seems to work with a few exceptions. The biggest problem however is with wp-signup.php. In the older version, once a member was registered and logged in, they could return to that page to create another blog. But in the trunk version, it always asks for username and email address - and doesn't recognize that the user is already logged in. This means a person can't sign up for multiple blogs with one login or email address.
I have looked at the code but can't really see the problem. Anybody else find this problem?
I would add a ticket to trac about this since it is extremely annoying ;)

Trent, looks like you already reopened the issue in track.

What's the protocol for looking into submitting a patch for a bug that is already assigned? (Not that I have a patch, just wondering about investing time into something that Donncha or someone is already waist deep into.)
I saw that ticket so did not create another. I will likely spend some time on it tonight to see if I can find a fix for it and submit the patch. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Yeaa... that fix soved the problem...
It may cause other issues, but none that i can see atm.
I just got home from work and did an SVN update, seems the file is now fixed so I didn't have to do anything! 2.7 is getting stronger!
