Why not spend the same amount to modify BuddyPress?

Why not stop spamming the forums with these? I believe a few folks followed up on your previous offers anyway. Did you follow up on any of those?

    tdjcbe,

    It forgives me,

I am with a great one doubts, between
    socialengine,
    elgg and
    Buddypress.

I love the functionalities of the WPMU.

But I am not certain if the Buddypress would be a great social net.

Great as WPMU it is a net of Blog

I think it would cost a bit more than $300 to integrate socialengine.

sowers, if you make your decision regarding what to choose - drop a line to venturemaker [at] gmail [dot] com

We can deal with Elgg. You'll spend quite a lot money to get socialengine and all its plugins - better to add a few bucks and agree on WPMU + Elgg.

We had a pretty good experience with Elgg. Also, have you considered Dolphin? It's free, and here for only $100 you can get integration: http://www.expertzzz.com/Downloadz/view/3348

dolphin sounds great. any experience with that? anything to comment? I am currently checking out the demo and feature description...

BUT I am not sure what exactly Dolphin is. Sounds like wpmu already, why would one want to integrate them!?

Dolphin is a social networking platform. Using Dolphin you can start a website like myspace, hi5, facebook, orkut, etc.

Well, integrating Dolphin with WPMU makes a GREAT sense - first of all, Dolphin itself does not have a good blogging system in it. Second - if you use WPMU as a kind of 'multi-site CMS' - then Dolphin becomes a great add-on as a social network for your users.

Regarding experience... Elgg is easier in terms of customizing it. Gerarding features - oh, yes, Dolphin has a ton of stuff inside :) But since we have a new Elgg 1.2 I think it became a good competitor to Dolphin.

Anyway, I pointed out Dolphin here cause it already has integration module for WPMU :)

I've looked that Dolphin it's not bad,but elgg is good. But I prefer buddypress.
I would invest it buddypress..if it was me!

    Honestly...
I don't feel that BP will ever compete with Elgg or other social networking platforms.

I'd prefer BuddyPress since the wpmu laguage files allow a from my understanding far more elegant internationalization... so if you may want to run a multilingual site consider to use BP...
