WordPress MU

OK, I have a problem I can't find the answer too. I have scoured the forums for a couple hours today and a couple hours yesterday.

This is a new install of WPMU 2.7 on a clean dedicated server.

The install went fine but whenever I try to sign up as a member I get a "Please Check Your Email Address" error from the email validation.

The email addresses are fine they are from other servers I have.

And I have checked the MX and A settings from the domains I have used email addresses to try to sign up and they all returned fine.

I have no plugins
The only modification of admin from the default install was to enable blogs and user accounts.

I can set up an account through admin but can't get the signup to accept email addresses.

Any help I could get with this would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if there's a dns server present on this box. One of the checks made with email addresses is if the domain is correct and if it exists. If that is a 'false', the software will return such an error.

Please check to see if a dns server exists on this box as it may not be present. You'll probably have to get with your host on that.

I already ran the dns check on the domains I was using for the email test they came back 11 also on the blafeo.com site I got a 11

I went in to check my dns settings on the server and everything looked fine but I restarted bind and now it works. Must have been a glitch but nothing in the error logs.

Hi people, I'm having this same problem on a fresh install on http://club.consciousvibe.co.za

I'm not sure what thehermitvi means by "restarting bind", so I'd try that if I was able to.

Any ideas for helping me get past this problem?
