Multiple MU Integration Question (7 posts)

I have two Wordpress MU installed since they had to be in different domains:

    http://www.mysite.com
    new.mysite.com

They have different functions, and the subdirectory form allows me to place a specific blog on each one:

    http://www.mysite.com/1
    new.mysite.com/1

I do this because each MU represents blogs for different study classes, and the one represents the locations of the classes ( this is a university site ).My problem is that people have to sign up for each MU. I want it to be that they can just sign up once and use both, or that I can use one MU.

    I found this thread:

And wanted to know if the Multi-Manager would work for me. Would this plugin allow me to have one MU setup, where I can make blogs in subdirectories of each subdomain? And people can sign on and use either subdomain?

Am I making sense? Tell me if I need to elaborate.

I'll be more concise ( Sorry bijab, I am probably a step behind you ):

Is it possible to have a plugin where you can map blogs in other subdomains, like:

    Main blog: http://www.abc.com
    Other domain: http://www.byy.com

And have it also map to a subdirectory in both blogs:

    http://www.abc.com/newblog
    http://www.byy.com/newblog2

MU itself can't be both subdirectory and subdomain. I have gone the route of placing two MU instances in two blogs, but would rather one so people don't have to sign up twice.

Any help, or former thread is appreciated. I have searched for this topic, and haven't found much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you essentially after this?

Macworkshop, I was thinking about that plugin. Does that mean that when people sign up, they will be able to use everything under the enterprise umbrella?

My whole goal is just not to have people signing up three times for three MU instances.

The site will have 2,000 users signed up by the end of the year. WP_Enterprise coder says that site admin has to add users, but I would want to recreate it so they can have one ID for all blogs under Enterprise.

Kinda like Wordpress.com and .org. Different domain, but cookies recognize one user.

Indeed - that's the ideal situation.
