I was just recording a demonstration for end users on how to edit their pages. When I got to the "Save" step, I changed the "Published On" date and time to reflect that exact date and time.

However, after saving, I see three different times displayed as follows:

    Draft saved at 8:07:41

The first one I adjusted to the clock on my computer.

The second one is over an hour and a half later.

The third one is over 3 and a half hours later.

On the General Settings page, the UTC offset for this blog is set to -4 (which should correspond to Central Daylight Time with the manual Daylight Savings Time adjustment). With that setting, as of right this second as I write this, I get:

    UTC time is 2009-05-19 20:48:29
    UTC -4 is 2009-05-19 16:48:29

But the server time at the command prompt is

    -bash-3.00$ date
    Tue May 19 21:06:41 UTC 2009

How do I reconcile all these time differences? What am I not understanding?

    Thanks.
