WPmu doesnt have the Update Services that is present in the standalone WP. I saw a forum post here that was 3 years old that said something about it being an option in the DB. But I think the codebase has undergone a change since then, as I don't find it in the DB now.
So, does WPMU update the blog directories or does it ping pingomatic automatically? Or is there any plugin available that I have to install?
We released one yesterday but it's premium only I'm afraid:

It pings pingomattic automatically. It just doesn't let you add any extra services.
Which pingomatic snags anyway.

Or, sign up to feedburner for your feed and set which services you want pinged on their site.
