    Hi all,

I know this has been answered many times before, but I'm new to running a server, and lighttpd. So could somebody give me a rough idea of what I need to do?

Am I pasting rewrite rules in lighttpd.conf?

    Many thanks,
    Alex

I followed those steps, but I can't achieve 'proper' rewrites, the URL still has this structure:

    example.com/index.php/2009/06/hello-world/

When I delete the index.php part of the URL I'm given a 404. What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks

    To be more specific:

When I choose the following permalink structure from the admin panel it works fine: example.com/index.php/2009/06/hello-world/

However, when I choose this one it gives a 404:
    example.com/2009/06/hello-world/

    What could I do?

Sorry, it does work, the tutorial just doesn't say to restart lighttpd.

    Maybe leave comment stating so?
