Sorry for the lame, probably asked a million times, question. I am pulling my hair out trying to decide between MU and the regular Wordpress.
I want to run about a dozen sites, that will be my sites. I want one login and that login to be shared across all sites so people don't have to keep doing it everytime they visit on the sites. I plan to use quite a few plugins, mostly the same, but a few different depending on the sites (Maybe different settings per plugin, on some of them). I want a community based feel, like avatars and profiles. I also would like to use forums, probably phpbb3, using say wp-united. I think the most important thing is I simply want to make it easy on my visitors, like not always having to login, their information appearing on all sites, etc... I also want different domains, one for each site.
Now I know that MU is great for blog networks that are big, but will it work right for a small blog network, with one single admin, that wants some different things on each site. Especially an admin interested in using quite a few plugins.
I'm new to all this, but I can set up both Wordpress and MU with my eyes closed. I jsut haven't attempted multiple sites with regular Wordpress and I am wondering if I would be wasting my time if I was to do it. Basically should I just declare MU and begin building with that or am I better off trying another approach? I haven't been able to find information on how to properly do it, for my case.
Thank you in advance for the help. My apologies for the post length.
