Service error after uploading files (3 posts)

    Hi all,

I've notice something strange lately. I've been working on modifying a theme and it seems that whenever I upload a file, the site will crash for about 15 minutes and then reappear. It doesn't happen right away, usually about 10 minutes after the file is uploaded. If you try to reload the site, it will eventually time out or give a 500 error.

This is the error I get:

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Apache/2.2.13 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8k DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at http://www.threesheetsnorthwest.com Port 80

I'm on a shared server from Bluehost. http://www.threesheetsnorthwest.com

    Any ideas what is happening?

So I spoke with my hosting provider. FastCGI was enabled and he thought that might be causing the problem. Now it is disabled. I will test to see if the problem persists.

Did you check the error logs to see what they say? :)
