Upgrade new install 2.7.1 to 2.8.4 (2 posts)

    Set up brand new blog from hosting acct ..was 2.7.1 version. Immediately went to Automatic Upgrade feature.... Connection Information ..with correct User Name and Password...The Host name was defaulted automatically ..to sqlc40.carrierzone.com and the Connection Type default was FTPS(SSL) . I left the Host account default the same..and tried both radial options for FTP and FTPS(SSL) ..in both cases the same error appeared....

    Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct.

    I called the hosting account support ..they dont want to help saying this is a Word Press issue...blah, blah, I'm caught in the middle ..and can not upgrade...HELP? (Thanks!) Paul

    The automatic upgrade isn't the most seamless way to upgrade, yet.

    If you encounter errors, it would be best to manually upgrade (download the new files, upload them by FTP yourself).
