Posted 14 years ago #bbPress is a good choice, but it is not a plugin. This would become a separate install in a /forums/ directory with its own backend, but integration with your current wp install would be easy enough (read the documentation), and there are even plugins that make the bbpress backend available through the mu backend. This WILL require you changing some code, or rather options in the code, but it is thoroughly documented, so if you read it won't be too hard.
Otherwise, search for wp forum plugins and take your pick.

Check http://simplepressforum.com/ and it working well with WPMU installs too.
