Unfortunately it's not possible to easily change the search box on this site because the template is shared with wordpress.org but there is a search page that does work.
To search the forums go to http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/search.php
Edit on 2009-05-15: with the new template this is of course obsolete. Just use the search form presented by the forum!
