Sub blog vs Sub Domain (7 posts)

I posted this in Wordpress forum then found WordpressMU forum, where it really belongs...

I know I am overlooking something simple, but 3 days of reading doc's & forums have not presented the solution...
Installed WPMU. Main blog / admin work fine.
When I try to create an additional blog (sub blog?) it tries to use the format blog.domain. I need it to be domain/blog.
I thought there might be a plugin or hack for this, but I have yet to find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to be sub-directory vs sub-domain install. Any way to change this short of re-installing?

In wp-config.php, change the vhost=yes to no.

you can delete the previously created test blogs and redo them.

Thank you. I just found a post where you answered that and came here to close and comment. Sorry for the double work on your part. I just had to find the correct terminology to find your previous answer. Ah, patience, I need more and you are blessed with plenty to be doing this.
    Again, thank you.

Okay, how do I close this? I closed the similar post in non-mu.

Hi. I have maybe similar issue:

I'm trying to get sub-directory type of install.

    My main blog works fine.

When I add blogs of the form http://domain.tld/blog I am unable to login using http://domain.tld/blog/wp-login.php

It goes to 404 of main blog. I have Vhost=NO in wp-config.

    WPMU 2.9.2

I have another install on my VPS using subdomain form, which works fine using DNS wildcard, but I can't get the sub-directory install to work.

    Help??
