Hi. I'm new at this so let me offer the usual apologies if I offend the old-time users/developers but here's my problem.

I am setting up multiple blogs for, say, Don, Tom, Dick, Jane, Harry and Pete at the following address: http://uusarasota.com/wpmuser/

I want to link to each of these individual's blogs from a separate website so that I only see the individual's newest blog.

For examle, how do I link to Don's blog? What is the URL structure that will get me only Don's latest blog?

Thanks ahead of time for your help. May the megabyte god smile on you today.

.. so that you only see the latest blog POST.

The whole thing is a blog. When they write soemthign new, it is a POST. Not a blog.

(sorry, pet peeve there. :D )

What's the other website where you want to pull this info? You can pull a sitewide feed over to it, is probably to way to go.

And you can generate a sitewide feed with the sitewide tags plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/

Pick whatever blog to aggregate everything to, then use the feed from that blog to pull the info to your other site.

    But of course you're correct. (I told you I'm a newbie, didn't I?)

So now the question is: How do I link to an individual's post??

The other site is my own; http://www.dondemaio.com

    Thanks.

    Don

Like I said, if you want it to happen automatically, set up a sitewide feed on the MU site, pull that feed in on your site.

Sorry, Andrea (I guess that your first name) but I'm completely lost when it comes to rss feeds. And looking at the doc for the plugin doesn't tell me what I need to know (What exactly is an rss feed? How do I go about settin one up? etc.)

Let me pose the question another way: Can I export the data directly out of the WP db and display it on the page by itself?

    Thanks.

    Don

the rss feeds for each & every blog on your system are automatically set up. WordPress does that. by default.

What does http://www.dondemaio.com run on? Also WordPress?

So, to recap - you want all the posts happening on http://uusarasota.com/ to show up in a box somewhere on http://www.dondemaio.com. Correct?

Andrea (yes, that is my first name. Unless you want to call me Mom, I answer to that too. ;P )

What you say is close. I want certain individuals' postings from uusarasota.com to appear on dondemaio.com.

If I can't do that, I'd like certain individuals' postings from uusarasota.com to appear on a separate page of uusarasota.com. So, I'd like one page to say "Here is Tom's latest posting" and then reprint only the very last posting Tom made. Same with the other bloggers in our congregation.

Thanks for taking the time to digest my problem. I'm trying to drag my church into the 21st century.

    Don
