The permalink structure of my blog looks like http://smilepls.com/blog/ something/ and I want to change it to http://smilepls.com/story/ something/ I tried to do from Options, DB .. its not happening.
Pls suggest how to do.

It;s a well known and documented feature.
The main blog in a subfolder mu install puts the /blog/ in the permalink to prevent URl collisions with member blogs that may inadvertently be the same.
there are plugins to remove it, but nothing out there to change it.
