Auto-adding www to subdomains (4 posts)

    Hello -
I'm a MU newbie, so forgive me. I finally have a good application for MU, and have been anxiously awaiting WP 3.0 to start working on the site. I've installed the release candidate and am trying to get my blog network setup, but I have a problem I'm hoping somebody can help with. It seems like it's probably obvious, but I can't find it.

My new site is at http://www.stcroix360.org.

I am trying to use subdomains for network blogs, with self-registration. Everything seems to be working dandily, but for some reason at the last step, WP insists on adding a www to the domain, so it will be like http://example.www.stcroix360.org.

I've set up my web host so it will recognize stcroix360.org with or w/out the www, and I think I've done what I need to do in WP too. If you strip out the www, it still works, but the links that are sent to registered users and which show up elsewhere all include the www.

I'll stop here rather than confuse things any further. I'd really, really appreciate any help anyone can provide. If you want to replicate the problem, feel free to go through the registration at http://www.stcroix360.org/wp-signup.php

    Thanks!
    Greg

If you think it's a bug, please file a trac ticket.
    http://core.trac.wordpress.org/

It might have something to do with answering to both the www & the non.

Edit: yep, it's an issue. Go file a ticker. Login with your username and passwword from here, put in as much info as possible.

RC 1 was released last night, and they want to get the official release out the door ASAP.

I had no idea it could be a bug... just figured I was doing something wrong. Thanks, I'll report it right now.

I pointed one of the devs to this thread & he fixed it already. :D try going up to the latest nightly build & see if it's fixed for you.
