    I had the same problem a few month ago, and I couldn't solve it. So, I installed the WP MU into the root directory - mysite.com, and I installed my joomla into another directory - news.mysite.com.

    Just curious, doesn't Joomla have the ability to do multiple blogs with its own extensions?

    I want to run by everyone to see if this makes sense. I tried with modifying httpd.conf and it is working so far. When someone types in http://www.mysite.com, it will direct to joomla directory (news). Any link without www. prefix, it will direct to wpmu site.

    <VirtualHost *:80>
    DocumentRoot /var/wpmu/news
    ServerName http://www.mysite.com
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost *:80>
    DocumentRoot /var/wpmu
    ServerName mysite.com
    ServerAlias mysite.com *.mysite.com
    </VirtualHost>

    Thanks in advance for any feedback and/or insight.
