Page Not Found when new blog created. (Old problem?) (5 posts)

    Hi,
I found other posts which describe this problem, but no solution so far.
When I create a new blog, activation goes fine, but clicking on link to the new blog gives a "Not Found" error.
    e.g. http://www.itrdu.com/wordpress/mfkelly/

Also, on the main page, http://www.itrdu.com/wordpress/
the link to the blog posts, e.g. "Hello World", gives the same error.

Additional info. When setting up wpmu, I experienced another common problem - the site urls were written as http://com/wordpress/itrdu
To remedy this I changed wrong url values in the database.

    Thanks for any help.

Check to see if mod_rewrite is active on your server. Also check to see if WPMu actually created content within the root .htaccess file.

    Hope this helps,

Looks as though mod_rewrite wasn't enabled. This is on a servage.net account - seems to be off by default.
Have made a request for it to be turned on. Will post back if that fixes it. (.htaccess was written successfully btw)

That seems to have done the trick.
    Thanks!

Not a problem. Easiest one of the day. :)
