Hello, I am starting my work on integration of WPMU and joomla. I want to have bridged login and registration, my idea is like this: if user is logged into joomla and visits any WPMU page, he is automatically logged in and redirected to page he wanted to visit. If user is not present in wordpress, it is created (using data from joomla). I working function which checks for joomla cookie and then pull userdate from database, but my problem is following:
I do not know where to include this function, can anybody please tell me, which file and function does that? it would take me a lot of time to figure out, so can anyone please give me direction? thanks in advance

In mu-plugins directory, you will see pluggable.php

You can create your own pluggable function and remove pluggable.php

That's at least what I did.

This has already been done successfully.
Look at the main Joomla.org site, unders Extensions.

    nataprawira:
I have integration working on my site quite well, only issue I have is with usernames shorther than 4 characters.

My solution is based on user bot for Community builder and modified pluggable for WPMU (I do not know how to make it proper plugin yet).

It is very dirty and created just for my site, so I guess it would be useful only for ppl who know php just fine..

I get the feeling it isn't being handed out.

Although, I can't see why people use joom-blah anyway. Ick.

There was never anything to update. The user has private code, and after 3 months if you folks can't grasp it isn't being shared... that's sad.

You're not going to see this as a release. If you do, Joomblah will probably throw a fit.

As of late, they have taken the stance that their interpretation of the GPL under which it is licensed is "strict".

They've had quite the falling out with the folks from Simple Machines (SMF) over it, in fact.

Joomblah's interpretation does not allow any code which is not licensed (and in the same strict terms) as their code.

Granted, SMF isn't GPL, but keep with me here.

Joomblah doesn't allow for any exceptions within the license. So if a project is GPL, but has exceptions, they won't even allow it.

WordPress is GPL, but it allows for exceptions. Whether this is the intent or not, it does allow for it. This may be due to how they interpret the license on their part, or may be intentional. That I can't speak for, but I'm sure you can google for some info on it.

That being the case, where code that also hooks into WP may or may not be GPL, this is considered to be an exception by "them people" over at the FSF. In turn, Joomblah will throw a fit over it. In fact, I'm really surprised that they haven't thrown a fit over the WP bridge yet. Granted, they may have. I don't keep up on their bloat... errr, whatever they call it now.

I don't know if it's funny, or sad.

You'd like to think that people would actually read the thread, but it's obvious they are skipping the most important parts.
