I'll answer my own post, yes it does work with mu, but the footer has got to be changed so that it links to wordpress mu and not to wordpress.

excepting for the K2 theme, every WP theme i've tried has worked with WPMU. i tried this and i might tell my users to build their own themes. then i'll upload and make them available.

Now wouldn't it be cool if something like this were an add-on (paid feature even) for MU installs? ;)

Is it possible to enable these themes for just specific blogs, or do they need to be enabled site wide?

    Thanks.

    Bob

    Bob,

Upload the theme and make sure it is not enabled in Site Admin -> Themes. Go to Site Admin --> Blogs and click Edit for the blog you want to enable the theme for. In the top right corner you'll see a list of all the themes that are not universally available. Check the box and save it.

Worked like a champ. Changed the name of the directory to something different so everyone can have an individual/custom theme. No other modifications required. My test blog http://allalaskans.com/testing/

alaskanbob, are you saying the themes generated by the theme generator are working great for your bloggers?

Or are you saying you figured out a way to integrate the theme generator with WPMU, such that your bloggers have the ability to create new themes? (without leaving your website)

    suleiman,

I'm saying that I figured out how to make it work for an individual blog owner without making it available site wide.

No, they would still have to go off site and send me the zip file to upload and enable for them.

that's what i'm thinkin demonicume, but until the owner of the code releases it to the wild, there's nothing we can do unfortunately.

Hey I just rolled out a cool wordpress theme generator over at http://www.wppal.com, its kinda like Yvos’s generator except it has a few different layouts. We are going to be adding a few layouts a month and we will keep it free and easy to use.

Dough, your link is broken, and might I also suggest a good way to attract the members of this community might be to release your wp-theme generator as a plugin that hooks into MU?
