I just discovered a feature of wordpress that almost makes me want to rip it off my server. I have images in a sub-folder of my wordpress install (that has nothing to do with wordpress that I created myself). I want to use that folder for forum avatars and random images, but when I try to link to anything in that folder directly it throws me a wordpress 404 page. How do I stop it from doing this?

Posted 16 years ago #Yep. Gotta exclude that file in htaccess.
There is a thread floating around here regarding bbpress that has the htaccess information in it. While it was illustrating an exclusion of a directory for the forum, it can easily be adapted to whatever you need.
