Mu installed in directory mode but cannot find new directories! (2 posts)

I have setup Mu in directory mode and have created new blogs. The new blogs can be viewed but I cannot see them when viewing folders on the server.
I have searched everywhere. For example, I have blogA at http://www.mydomain.net/blogA but the blogA directory isn't visible when listing all files at that location on my server.

What am I doing wrong? Where are they?

That's because, just like with wildcard subdomains, they are virtual.

Meaning, they don't physically exist whatsoever. Thanks to the kind folks at Apache for writing a great web server, developers can harness that power to make things "look pretty" in the address bar, from something that doesn't physically exist.

To tone it down a bit, think of it like an extra item in a permalink.

You can go to domain.tld/2007/01/25/my-post/, which doesn't actually exist either. This is just a step above that, and renders a whole different site like domain.tld/username/2007/01/25/my-post/, or whatever.
