What exactly does Mu do ?

From the readme, it stated that we need to enable * wildcard, what reason is there to do this ?

Does this mean that all mu does is set things up virtually ? in other words parked on the main domain but set up to make it look like separate areas ?

You only need to enable wildcards (there are 2, apache and dns) if you want users to have their own subdomain.

    Mu then serves them virtually.

The reason for this is so that when someone registers, their site works right away, so that every time someone does register you're not adding a records and editing your conf file, and also so that your DNS zone and conf file don't get freakin huge.
