WordPress MU

Hi,

I am looking to start a site so others can build out a little bio or page on themselves.. something like a myspace page for professionals in a certain industry or whatever.

Anyways, I think that the Wordpress Dashboard and loop are going to be too confusing for this group of people.

Does anyone know of an alternative open source software that will do the same thing as wordpress MU without it being Wordpress?

Or, do you know of any plugin that could "dumb down" the wordpress dashboard for ease of use?

You could always makes edits to the Dashboard. Like do display:none; in the CSS to hide links you don't want seen.

they don't need to know anything about The Loop to be able to post.

I know there are already a couple threads around here about hiding things on the backend.
