WordPress MU

I need to install WordPress MU on a server which does not, and will not, allow the use of .htaccess files.

I tried copying the .htaccess directives to the httpd.conf but things like http://site/blog/wp-content/themes/ do not appear to work , and produce a 404 error.

Anyone any ideas?

Enable htaccess for this particular vhost container only.

Other than that, you're probably stuck if adding the rewrite rules into the vhost container didn't work.
