resason for database structure? (6 posts)

hello. I am concerned with how wordpress mu organizes its data base.

For every blog that is created a new set of tables created for that blog.
is there a reason for this?
will it take up an more memory then if I configured it to work with the default tables?

it just seems so much. if I want to look at the database, it shows 20 tables! and that only a few users. when I deploy my wordpress-mu there will be over a hundred of users.

is there a plugin to change the behaviour of the database?

is there no reason for me to worry?

    please let me know.
