Are These MU blogs? (5 posts)

I'm trying to incorporate wordpress MU into my community site, however, it's causing a lot of problems...

I noticed a site that is similar to my site... it's using blogs in a very similar way I'd like to use them. Are these wordpress MU blogs? If not, could wordpress be adapted to do this:

    http://www.dittytalk.com/blog/blog_home.php

Also, due to the fact that each installation of wordpress requires so much room, I was considering making it an upgraded package. In its place (for free members), I would like to use some basic blogging module (like what myspace uses)... does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

Dont look like WPMU blogs unless they've stripped a lot of stuff out of the head segment.

I see they've gone mad. If you follow the link to one of their blogs they wrap the whole thing in a set of Iframes which basically "rewrites" blog URLS like http://www.dittytalk.com/blog/?id=12902

    to http://12902.dittyblog.com/

    So no, not WPMU

Looks to me like a customized phpBB installation.

To tell if it is mu:
    - go to the site
    - rick-click and view the source of the page.
    - look for WP stuff. It will say WP.
    - see if they have wp-signup.php

Otherwise, it's not MU. most of those sites can be done with MU though.
