Do i need my root blog installation? (1 post)

    Hey-

I have MU installed on http://blogs.legacyrecordings.com/ and, i think due to .htaccess and wpmu-settings.php weirdness, both non-existant pages that should be 404-ing and pages dynamically generated by plugins are redirecting back to the home page (which is how i set it up in wpmu-settings so as to avoid anyone ever seeing wp-signup.php). There are no actual posts on this main blog, nor are there any users other than admin. Would it be possible, in order for subdirectory/url/plugin parsing to work correctly off of the root, to remove the blog instance connected to my root directory? or move it somehow?

Alternately, does anyone know how to make it so MU does not parse urls that do not contain the subdirectory of a blog that actually exists (i.e. to let the actual plugin-based rewriting or an actual 404 error pass through)?
