Possible Bug with apostrophe escaping (4 posts)

    Hi,

Wordpress MU seems to have a bug. If I enter a blog title with and apostrophe in it (eg "Dave's blog"), it will escape the apostrophe with a backslash. Unfortunately, this isn't stripped when the blog is displayed, the result being the page shows "Dave\'s blog". I'm pretty sure this is a bug. If I modify anything through Site Admin | Blogs | Edit, then save, the backslash re-appears, but doesn't show on the Edit page. If I go to Options | Blog Title, it DOES show it, and I can remove it and save. It'll go away until I edit blog settings through Site Admin.

    Been discussed previously:

edit: Here's the other discussion on the topic.

reedit: I'm not aware of a fix and it appears to affect different installs in different ways.

Fair enough. I'm aware of it, so it's workable. I wouldn't mind betting it's a PHP version thing. I had some problems with addslashes() some time ago doing weird things.
