wp-xxx tables missing after move (1 post)

A small ~100 blogs setup for students that I made for a previous employer was moved by the provider to a new server. I am trying to help out the friend who is looking after it now.

After resetting the ip I found that I was getting the "debugging wpmu" message. After a little investigating I find that the wp_blogs, wp_sitemeta, etc tables are missing from the database. All the blog tables are still there though.

The setup is an older one (it wasn't worth the trouble of upgrading) using 1.2.4 with a few hacks here and there, but nothing really unusual.

Is there a way to regenerate the tables that the site needs (it probably doesn't need all of the blogs maybe 20 to 40 of them are actually active).

It goes without saying that there isn't a database backup unless the provider has one. I have my friend contacting them to follow up that.

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers.
