Error establishing a database connection - subdomain option (8 posts)

I unzipped and uploaded files to http://ipunye.com/sites

Using cPanel, I've created a MySQL database named 'wpmu' and added user 'wpmu' to that db.

    When I go to http://ipunye.com/sites/index.php, I get:

    Error establishing a database connection

I've even tried changing user and db name to 'ipunyec_wpmu' (which is what cPanel shows me) but still get the same error.

Have chosen the 'subdomains' option and added sites.ipunye.com as my subdomain and redirected to the respective folder.

Now I can't even change my installation info cos the page keeps showing the error msg.

    Pls help! TQTQ.

Delete the created wp-config.php file. :) Gotta do that, as it doesn't re-write your changes to it.

Okays, tq. I'm able to change the db connection details now but still can't get it to connect. =(

You aren't editing the config file directly are you?

    What the solution?

I believe, specifying correct connection parameters is the solution :)

Either that or bring the MySQL server back up as it may be down.
