    Hi All,

I'm a french student who try to install wordpress mu to purpose to my friends a personal area. With that, they can make blogging, show their artistics creations, etc...

But i have a little probleme...

I made the installation on http://www.pubarts.org, modify the settings of virtual host, and autorise DNS management to have subdomains.

    ServerAdmin webmaster@pubarts.org
    DocumentRoot /home/pubarts/www
    SuexecUserGroup pubarts users
    ServerName http://www.pubarts.org
    ServerAlias *.pubarts.org
    CustomLog logs/pubarts-access_log combined
    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/pubarts/cgi-bin/
    AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php

However, the blog added like subdomain are ok : http://morgan.pubarts.org, but, the home is destroyed : http://www.pubarts.com, and the admin inaccessible : http://www.pubarts.org/wp-admin

    So what must i do?

Other question, how forced the WWW for the home, because for the moment, http://www.pubarts.org redirect to http://pubarts.org

I have seen this ( http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic.php?id=379#post-23085 ), but i don't really understand why to comment help...

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Morgan

Other question, how forced the WWW for the home, because for the moment, http://www.pubarts.org redirect to http://pubarts.org

That's correct as the blogs come off of what you have for the home address. If you had http://www.pubarts.org in there, your userblogs would be http://username.www.pubarts.org

Please be sure to read the entire readme file, especially the last portion of it. It appears you may have missed a bit.

The 'www' bit appears to be your problem though. For some reason your server (Note I say server and not webserver) is not responding for your domain without the 'www' bit. It needs to.

Take the www off of the ServerName. The www is covered under the wildcard alias.

Also, as mentioned above, don't use the www when installing.

    ok, no problem.

I have read the readme, but i thought it was possible to forced the www, and to keep http://username.pubarts.org

So, the home has been http://www.pubarts.org and the blog http://username.pubarts.org

I thank you for your help :)

Oh, after the install i made a mistake, i modified the admin of blogs, but not correctly because i can't access to the settings like "wp-admin/wpmu-blogs.php" because i din't have the access right, so how to reset, and to give again the access right to the admin user.?

    Thanks.
