location of data about items in Media Library (3 posts)

    I've converting some WP blogs to WPMU, and I want to move the images used in the old blogs to WPMU. I have successfully moved them to the appropriate subdirectory under 'blogs.dir', but the images don't show up in the Media Library. Only items uploaded via the file uploader appear.

    So, I'm guessing that WPMU keeps track somewhere of what items have been uploaded. The question is "where"? Looking through the databases with phpMyAdmin didn't turn up this info (I may be overlooking the obvious).

    My questions are:
    1. Where/how does WPMU keep track of uploaded files?
    2. Can I add the necessary info about manually moved images so that the Media Library shows these images?
