What I've done is the following:
1. Extract the openid to wp-content\mu-plugins\
2. Restart Apache2.0.59
3. In WPMU, there is no need to activate the plugin.
4. Visit a new blog created and tried to comment on it.
However, I can't see the exactly image with the one on http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/openid/screenshots/ . What I can see is an image without "OpenID Enabled".
Kindly advise what is wrong.
wp-openid doesn't work under mu-plugins. I wrote a patch a while back (it's in trac) against an earlier version, but it doesn't apply to the very latest code, and I haven't updated it. I should do that. :-)

jdub: Yes please!!!
We are trying to apply the patched 2.1.2 plugin on mu-WP 2.6... having serious authentication issues. We use that installation only internally for the next few weeks, so we are working with ugly hacks to avoid that probs.
Hope you find the time to update your patch... would love to do beta testing ;-)
