Hi there, is it possible to install MU in a subfolder http://domain.com/wpmu but calling it at http://domain.com?

I know it is possible with a 'normal' wordpress installation by defining a site url and blog url and moving index.php to the site-url root.

This doesn't seem to work with MU though. Is there a way to have a different site url and blog url with the MU Main Site?

Playing around with mod_rewrite can help you...
But what's the reason of choosing such a way?

I installed it in a subfolder. I was used this procedure from 'normal' wordpress ... I prefer a clean root folder ;). I would like to have a direct URl though ... if there is no easy way I guess I will make a new installation in the root folder. Thanks for the replies!

I would like to do the same thing. How do I set up MU so that it is installed and administrated from a subfolder like http://domain.com/wpmu but the blogs are called from http://domain.com/blogname rather than http://domain.com/wpmu/blogname?

So I've tried using a 301 redirect and the Meta Refresh method to make:

    http://domain.com/blogname redirect to http://domain.com/wpmu/blogname

but for some reason it is not working.

Both methods duplicate the blogname in the URL. Making the URL look like the following:

    http://domain.com/wpmu/blognameblogname

Any suggestions or ideas on why this is happening?
