Is there any reason why i shouldn't use this permalink structure?

    /%category%/%postname%/

May be dumb question but it is really important for me. Thanks.

/%category%/%postname%/ and /%postname%/ are the best things you can do to your blogs.

You can edit the default permalink structure by editing wp-admin/upgrade-schema.php and look for "permalink_structure"...

I was using /%category%/%postname%/ for a few blogs but now I use /p/%postname%/ on new install. It is because the former at times make URL too long on autoblogged posts, which translate post title straightly to URL.

I use /p/ prefix instead of just straight /%postname%/ because at times I have non-wp sub-folders created and I don't want them crash name with any posts.
