Hey gang hopefully someone has experienced this problem. Installed WPMU and everything seemed to be working properly. I set it up for subdomains. My host tells me all the wildcard stuff is correct and that I need to do something from my end.

When I go to this url the blog shows up:
    http://test.outcaststudios.com/index.php
    BUT
when I go to this url I get redirected to my homepage:
    http://test.outcaststudios.com/

My host told me to set up *.outcaststudios.com as a subdomain.

Then they said everything is functioning as it should from the host side and to check into the htaccess? or something for the software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I'm so close!

Do Step 6 if you (or they) havent.
And don't take their word for it, check yourself for the required edits to httpd.conf

I'm pretty sure I don't have access to that specific section that's being described in that link through my cpanel. I'm on a shared hosting account. Any way to check this from my end without access to that in cpanel?

No way to check, you have to ask your hoster do this for you. Or get a VPS :)

"My host told me to set up *.outcaststudios.com as a subdomain."

    Did you do that part?

Yes I did. One thing I didn't do was set up any kind of redirection on it. It asks me to input the subdomain which I put as "*" then there is a section for the document root. I left that blank? I also tried to put in the document root as "*" but that put me into some strange infinite redirect and my whole site was down because of it. It would make sense to me that I need to tell it some document root other than just leaving it blank but I just don't know?

I just figured it out! I had to delete my index.html file so that the server would then default to the index.php file for the WPMU install.

    Thanks for the suggestions gang
