    Hi all,

    i had installed wpmu in my site. When the instalation had finished, the system gaves me a password to log to the control panel.

    When i write this password and try to login, the system says "Error: incorrect password" :S

    I´m sure that i´m writting the password correctly. Someone can help me? I don´t know what I can do !

    Thanks in advance (and sorry for my English!).

    Can you go through 'Forgot your password?' feature?

    Yes VentureMaker, but it´s the same case (it says that the password is incorrect).

    Is the username correct?
    If you have phpMyAdmin, it should be easy. Find out the username, change it. Then for the password, delete the old one and put in a MD5 hash of a known word.
    For example, for password: miguel, it is: 9eb0c9605dc81a68731f61b3e0838937
    You can get it from:
    http://tools.benramsey.com/md5/
    It might be difficult to reverse the hash for WordPress generated passwords, so might not be worth reversing what is already in your database.

    Hi! I'd had the same problem and, at last, I could resolve it. So, I tell you my experience:

    In my "host" file I wrote two domains to try:

    127.0.0.1 -> local
    127.0.0.1 -> blog1.local

    I installed WPMU from <http://local/> and later, the password didn't work. So, I changed the domains in this way:

    127.0.0.1 -> main.local
    127.0.0.1 -> blog1.main.local

    And, installing from <http://main.local>, it works ;) And later, you know... you can install another blog on <http://blog1.main.local>.

    I've got this problem now. Can't login from the back end. "Error: Incorrect Password" - even using the "forgot password" link doesn't generate a password that allows me to login. Cleared cookies and cache. This isn't good...

    Clearing cookies, cache AND typing in manually worked.

    forget password will send you a confirmation link. after confirming the password loss the new password will be mailed to you.

    forget password doesn't work if its a local install though. i'm having the same problem. very annoying. cleared cache and cookies, manually typed the password...very annoying installation of wordpress MU. also had to comment out lines in the wp-blog-header file before being able to install it in a subfolder, even though it says you can...hmm...needs some clean up
