I use Wordpress MU 2.7.
On this version, it seems we can change category slug, in "Quick Edit".
But I can't change the slug.
When I overwrite the word, and click the button "Update Category" , it doesn't change.
Is this error?
Or is there any solution?
P.S. I'm sorry my poor English.

Actually, you shouldn't even see the slug under quick edit.
The reason the slug is not able to be edited is due to the global categories table, where all categories are stored. It keeps track of all categories across your MU install, and provides a globalized category id. Of course they also get stored in the blogs taxonomy schema, but the way the code is currently, if the slug were updated then it could in turn potentially affect additional users other than the current blog.

I can recognize that all categories are stored in one MYSQL table "wp_sitecategories".
But I can't understand,
Possibly, because my poor reading ability...
Why the slug can't be updated by admin, though we can create same category name across blogs.
If WPMU will upgrade in the future,
Isn't there any way to name the slug freely?
