I'm looking for a solution to a very simple problem. I want my main blog to be a hub for the other blogs within my WPMU setup. Like recent posts but for every blog. Ideas?

You could include the other blogs RSS in the main blog, showing only the last articles.

There's a plethora of plugins available - how do you want to handle it?
Simplest in your case is to get the sitewide tags plugin, set it up to put all the posts in the main blog. problem solved.
