I am having a similar problem to this post with the latest build.

I have only just installed it and after logging in as admin with the emailed password I tried to 'Create a new blog'. After entering the details

    Blog domain: test1
    Blog title: testing

    I recieved this error:

    --------------------------------------------

WordPress database error: [Table 'wpmu.wp_4_options' doesn't exist]
    SELECT option_value FROM wp_4_options WHERE option_name = 'blogname'

WordPress database error: [Table 'wpmu.wp_4_options' doesn't exist]
    SELECT option_value FROM wp_4_options WHERE option_name = 'siteurl'

WordPress database error: [Table 'wpmu.wp_4_options' doesn't exist]
    SELECT option_value FROM wp_4_options WHERE option_name = 'wp_4_user_roles' LIMIT 1
    wpmu.uat.edna.edu.au Is Yours

wpmu.uat.edna.edu.au is your new blog. Login as "admin" using your existing password.`

    ------------------------------------------------

Shouldn't that be 'wpmu.uat.edna.edu.au/test1 is your new site'?

So anyway, the test1 blog is still created and I can view wpmu.uat.edna.edu.au/test1.

In the admin area under Site Admin > Blogs I can see the 4 different blogs I have created, but they all have the same Blog Name 'wpmu.uat.edna.edu.au' and the View link goes to the same url when im assuming it should be going to /test1 or whatever blog name I entered originally.

Is this a clean install or are you placing this on top of another one? I just did a clean install and I'm not getting this issue. I was thinking it was an issue with the primary key within the database being set to something besides 1 but that appears to not be the case.

Careful observers will note from the install page that wpmu is now requiring installation in the 'root' of a domain. This is to ensure that paths are maintained correctly in the coding and the use of .htaccess which is largely functional :D

Installed in public_html folder which is root ain't it?
It is also a clean installation. What's wrong?

Log out of your admin account and then create the new blog. Should work fine! Does for me!
