Hi,
I have searched quite some time to find a compatible popular post wordpress mu plugin.
The plugins I have found, only display posts posted by the main blog (admin), not by the individual bloggers.
The idea is to show the most popular post of the last month of all the bloggers in the sidebar on the homepage of the mu weblog.
Thanks for any help!!!
Kind regards,
Christophe
Hi Christophe,
I am currently using the "Daily Top 10 Posts", and "Vote It Up" plugins. The first lists the most visited posts with a widget in the sidebar where I want. The second gives a voting box on the post, and a widget for the sidebar listing most voted upon posts.
If you have your blog pages aggregated into the main blog then it will show them all in the stats - on the main page anyway.
My problem at the moment is I want something that will also show the stats in the sidebar's of the other blogs. However if you just want them to show on the main blog then you should be fine using them, as long as your posts all get aggregated to main page.

Hi,
I´m looking for the same as Chirstophe.
Is there any WPMU plugin to have all the sitewide popular posts, displayed on the homepage ?
Thanks

Donncha's plugin is my choice:
http://ocaoimh.ie/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/
That'll get every post from the site collected on the main blog. Ranking them by "popularity" will need something else. If comment count is your measure of popularity, that would be doable, too, I figure.
I´ve tried Donncha's plugin but it replicates every post to a new url like yourblog.com/tags/postitle, and i want to keep my original URLs (like yourblog.com/blogtitle/postitle)
Is there any way to do that ?
i was wondering to use then some popularity plugin like http://rmarsh.com/plugins/popular-posts-plugin/

It keeps them. If you look at the posts in the tags blog, they link back to the original permalink. If you're worried about duplicate content, mark the tags blog as non-public. Google won't crawl it, visitors still see it.
Hi,
I´m here again. It´s weird, but my tags blog is not showing all the global posts, and is not linking to the source URLS

Am I doing something wrong ?

Dunno, can;t tell from poking around the site.
I have it set up to push posts to my main blog here:
http://homeschooljournal.net
As you can see, each entry links back to the right blog.
I did note one of your sub-blogs had a lot of posts that weren't being picked up by the tags blog.
hmm, and what can i do ?
here there is a screenshot on how does it looks my options page

any idea ?

That looks right.
make sure the sub-blogs are set to Public.
Yes, I´ve checked that also
If i check on "Post to main blog", the the tags blogs will be obsolette and all the posts are supposed to be posted on my main blog (with the URL linking to the original blog)
I´ve checked your example at http://homeschooljournal.net and that´s exactly what i want to do
Hi, I guess i´ve finnaly find the solution !
the plugin was desactivated ! (i don´t know why it was partially working)
I have one question now:
If i´ve collect all posts form different blogs, can i collect commetns, or another featues ?
I´m using http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vote-it-up/ plugin in all blogs. can i create a "most voted posts" sitewide ?
Thanks !
