    Hello all,

I have an issue that has been an issue for several versions of wordpressmu.

When I or my users go to the post page via the admin panel, in IE, they get a pop-up error message which reads:

    Stop running this script?
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.

    Yes No

Now, no matter what option is chosen, the page fails to respond properly, ie - it will take several seconds to scroll, or much of anything.

Works fine in FireFox, but alas most of my users run IE. I have been able to duplicate this in both IE7 and IE8.

So. . .no one else has this issue or know how to fix it?

A link to your install and checking your webserver's error logs would be a good start. Have you tried turning off your plugins to see if that helps? (A good suggestion for that is to rename your mu-plugins and plugins directories so they won;t be found instead of manually turning everything off.)

    Reference: http://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_WPMU

It's probably a plugin trying to reload a javascript that wpmu has already called.

See the install works great, except for the post page with or with out the plugins activated. There is no error in the logs. I just get the script warning in IE.

    Yep.

I'm guessing it's the server. There has been an issue lately where if the server has extra security, posting gives a 404, but I'm not sure if this is related.

Try the "rename the mu-plugins and plugin subdirectories" trick, logout, clear your browser's file and cookie cache, relogin, try again and see if the problem still occurs.

If the problem goes away, it;s something in one of the plugins.

edit: I know you;ve said that turning off the plugins doesn't affect it, I'm just wondering if it;s something that still is getting loaded somehow or from the mu- subdirectory

I do not get a 404, the browser freezes up with the aforementioned error message popup.

tdjcbe, I will try this tonight.
