Upgrading from Regular WordPress to WordPress MU (3 posts)

    Hi,

I have recently installed what I believe to be the latest major version of WordPress. Over time I have begun to understand that I will now need WordPress MU to run a site I want, and did a fresh installation on my web server. However, I'd like to go back to the regular blog which I've already setup but use it as MU.

Is there a way I can use my old WordPress blog but upgrade it to WordPress MU without having to start a new installation, install the themes, make all the pages/posts etc. again. Is there some sort of feature or resource which will allow me to do this.

    Thanks in advance,
    David.

Not really. They are two separate programs, so you can't really "upgrade".

Go to your old WP blog. Export the content. Grab a copy of the uploads folder (just in case), and make a db backup.
Get a copy of the themes & plugins.

    Now install WPMU.

Import your blog (from the export file), put in the theme & plugins. Then you're set.
