When I click on the Dashboard link in top left corner of my wpmu dashboard, the link that should be loaded would be:

    http://www.example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=index.php

What is loaded in the content is:

"Hi admin! You're logged in as a site administrator."

Than a white page, empty content (left menĂ¹ is still present).

If I manually remove admin.php?page=index.php and load in the browser instead:

    http://www.example.com/wp-admin/

Then the dashboard link is correctly marked as selected and in the content are printed a lot of useful information about my wpmu installation.

I dont get if this is a misbehaviour or is it normal, thanks.

Remove the useless index.php file from /wp-content/plugins/ or /mu-plugins/

Damn... that didn't fix it for me.

When I remove the plugin directory - or the index.php file, all I get when I hit http://www.example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=index.php (the link from the "dashboard" button) is "Cannot load index.php"

    Any thoughts?

I'm on 2.7.1 - fresh install (only 3 blogs up...)

To clarify -- with the index.php in the plugins folder, I get Paamayim's message and full access to the sidebar functions (posts, pages, etc.) when I remove that file - it ALL goes kaput. with only those lonely 3 words:

    "Cannot load index.php"

Removing index.php from the mu-plugins folder worked for me. Thanks!

Yup - it finally worked for me to - As I posted elsewhere, clearing the cache after the delete was key. (Possibly something with Gears Turbo).
