Dumb mistake / reinstall error (7 posts)

I decided to give Wordpress MU a shot to play with buddypress. I had wordpress 2.8 installed in the root directory and moved it to a sub directory folder. I then installed wordpress MU 2.7.1 in the root. After installing I decided to move it to a sub directory (wpmu) and the install had a few errors.

I figured I messed something up and decided to install WPMU from scratch in the new sub directory but, when i unzip a fresh copy into the directory it auto detects the old settings and has the same issues. Since this is a fresh install what file is auto detecting the old settings?

Check for hidden files, too. The .htaccess file won't always show up and other hidden files might be causing problems.
